Member Acquistion

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is committed to the professional development of engineers, from university through to retirement. We work with the Institution to drive recruitment of new student members, and conversion of graduates to paying Associate members.

We believed success lay in increasing the perceived value of membership by improving member participation and commitment. At the same time, we had to reinforce appreciation of the tangible and intangible benefits of their membership.

We built a campaign that positioned the Institution as the home of mechanical engineering – with membership ‘customisable’ to the needs of each member, and the benefits increasing the more you are involved.

The campaign is executed across direct mail, email, telephone, social media, video, lectures and online – reaching engineers and students in 90 countries around the world.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is one of the fastest-growing professional engineering institutions in the world, and now has over 112,000 members in 140 countries.
